PSA: Firewise is a community initiative for making homes and neighborhoods in the wildland-urban interface less fuel dense and more fuel conscious. To be less fuel dense means that there is an appropriate amount of space between objects and structures. Being aware and knowing exactly how much space is needed between objects and structures helps to mitigate the intensity of wildland fires in areas where people reside and structures of value are erected. To be more fuel conscious means one is aware of such things as smoke points, water content in fuels, and what kinds of materials can protect against fire ignition. It's an initiative every fire prone community should know about and participant in, it's super valuable, for sure)....
